CHILDHOOD

Reaching 40 when I sit and think of my childhood I am reminded of very few incidences.May be my Teenage and other stages of life had more impact. My mother says I was very naughty and very adventerous. I was born at my Grannies place in Delhi. Many family members were not happy with my birth as they were expecting a boy. I think it was at that time only that I decided to do what others in my family has not done it.
Few things which I remember of my childhood are:-
Once we had gone to a park near by and someone had plucked a lotus from the pond. In the meantime the caretaker came and they threw the lotus in the pond. But I thought they will be caught so I jumped in the pond to take the Lotus without giving a second thought what will happen as I didn't even knew swimming.I was in the pond flat lying and then I saw a hand towards me to pull me out. So here I am alive till date.
The other incident was the Gemini Circus.I went with my parents to see the Gemini Circus and as my kind I wanted to do everything which ever I saw. So I collected my friends and started the show. I was really performing my best as my friends were clapping. I started with my last performance on the stairs and I went upside down but suddenly my hands slipped and down I came with a bang. My Mother took me to the Doctor and he enquired as to what I was doing , may be he felt that after getting so much hurt in my head I was still normal. As an innocent child I told him I was performing Gemini Circus.
Every child loves celebrating Birthday. I think it has to do nothing related to gifts or so. What mattered was the weaing of B'day Cap, Cake, Candles and Dress. My mother wouldnot celebrate my Birthday on my request, then what I had my own plans. Suddenly in the evening my friends landedup for the celebration and my mother didn't knew what to do. But a lesson learnt by my mother, to pay attention to what the request.

When Childhood was alive

We took it all for granted

When childhood was alive

We hadn’t a worry in the world

When childhood was alive

We played all day with no worries

When childhood was alive

All of us so innocent and free

When childhood was alive

Nobody knew what lied ahead for us,

Nobody disagreed

All we knew that we were kids

Born to playBorn to speak our minds

When childhood was alive

That time that you felt Nothing would hold you back

That time that you felt you were free

When childhood was alive

But now ‘tis dead For it passes too quickly

And now the time has come

To break all ties with childhood

To say goodbye to being a kid

And to say hello to more obstacles

Because childhood is dead

It is long goneNow ‘tis the time

That you move on
